The Williams’ Cottages, 200 yards past the historic Ocracoke Lighthouse, can be rented weekly or for as few as three days. These little hideaways are for no more than four people and will appeal to the visitor who wants to experience Ocracoke as it used to be. The two cottages each have two bedrooms, a screened porch and are cooled with window AC units. If you want to hear wonderful stories about growing up on the island, visit with the proprietor of the cottages, Della Gaskill, across the street at Woccocon Nursery. She loves to visit and will be happy to tell you about her childhood memories about the life of a fisherman’s family in the 1940s.
