Tommy’s Natural Foods Market & Wine Shop is known internationally for their beef and wild American Seafood. It is the only market in the area licensed to carry Certified Angus Beef. The seafood department features fresh and steamed wild American shrimp, wild Alaskan salmon, dry packed scallops (no preservatives here), clams, Alaskan crab legs, tuna and crab cakes — so good that even the folks from Maryland take them home. Carrying more than 400 local and North Carolina-made products as well as many that support global initiatives, Tommy’s owners have adopted the slogan “A small town grocery with a global conscious.” Have fun discovering new salsas, marinades, olives, spices, specialty snacks, crackers and the best selection of chocolates we’ve seen on the Outer Banks. We can’t forget to mention the fresh-baked breads, pastries and pies. There’s also a wide selection of organic, non-GMO and gluten-free products, and Tommy’s has the largest selection of wine and beer in Duck. On Tuesdays, May through September, you can sip and sample your way through the store, tasting international, regional and local foods, wines and microbrews, plus sauces, snacks, jams, jellies, cheeses and coffee, and it’s free from 2 to 6 p.m.
