The Dolphin Den is THE destination to visit when you think of eating out while on the island. With over 30 years professional food service experience in fresh seafood, a cookbook of island family recipes, and originals. Before there were bridges to the island families depended on the sea, and even breakfast was a special treat. There are few restaurants on Hatteras Island owned and run by native islanders, and it shows.
Introducing a new concept… Take Out for LARGE groups… of 8 or more. This is a separate menu of items that may not be on the regular menu but are prepared fresh to your call, daily, and in large quantities. You can order right online! Check out our menu!

Dolphin Den is family friendly and can accommodate large parties. They also find that small parties feel comfortably tucked away in booths that are high enough to make dining a personal experience. If seafood is not your choice, you will be pleased to know that they serve the best Angus steaks, cut in their kitchen and served to your specifications.
