While overlooking the palm trees and cypress marsh, enjoy dining comfortably on a screened, covered deck. (Heated and enclosed in the late fall and early spring.) The delicious food is cooked fresh with selections like shrimp and chips, fish and chips, fish and shrimp tacos, soft crabs (in season), and favorites like cheeseburgers, hot dogs with homemade chili and steak sandwiches with homemade steak sauce. There is also a variety of salads and other great menu items. But the Island Fries really stand out — they’re thick-sliced potatoes, flash fried in healthy canola oil, crisp and unforgettable, especially with ranch dressing. Wash it all down with cool limeade, hand-dipped milkshakes or a soft drink. Island Central Grill serves lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday through Friday.
