Every inch of space in this 1800-square-foot restaurant is utilized to maximize your dining pleasure. There is a cozy bar offering cocktails and a small collection of domestic and craft beers and wine tucked into the front corner in front of the window with five bar stools to accommodate diners or those waiting for a table. The dining area is decorated in earthy tones, shelves of books, original art and eclectic antiques and has 37 seats. Every white table clothed table is topped with brown craft paper and adorned with a single bloom in an antique bottle. Behind the bar, running the entire length of the restaurant is the open kitchen that produces food folks are lining up for — pork shanks with hot sauce and blue cheese slaw, flounder with hoppin’ john, tomato chutney and boiled peanut sauce, NY strip with horseradish sauce, herb salt fries and arugula. The list goes on. There are no reservations. Be prepared to wait. It’s worth it.
